July 31 - Mouse or Man - Cannibal Plateau
When the cat is away, the mouse does play.........but that doesn't mean the mouse has fun. Toni didn't feel well enough to climb on the ATV again so I decided to go up to the area around Deer Lakes yesterday morning in hopes of getting a picture of a bull moose.
By the time I reached the spot where the Cannibal Plateau 50 inch trail hits the main road, I had the bright idea that I would be able to find what I was looking for on THAT trail. So............away I went. Bad idea. The only way I would have been able to spot a moose would have been if it was standing on one of the 10,000,000 rocks I had to drive over!
After about 5 miles, what little testosterone I have kicked in so I turned from a mouse to a MAN and just had to finish the trail, which turned out to be 14 miles of really crappy trail. Last year, we did half of the trail (mile 7) and it was bad but my meager memory had forgotten how bad it was and that 7 miles turned out to be the best part of the trail. The last 7 miles, which I did first this time, was a LOT worse than the other part. Anyway, here are a few pictures.

Here are some typical trail pictures. Nice!!!!
Here are some pictures of a herd of sheep with a herdsman on a mule.
Found a family of marmots.
